A website as considered as the work you put on it.
Squarespace design and development for photographers, studios, coaches, and boutique businesses. Image-forward, quietly elegant, and easy to keep updated yourself, without the DIY look that undersells good work.
Your work is better than your website
Clients see the site before they see the work
A referral opens your link, and the first impression isn't your best shoot. It's a template fighting your images.
The DIY build took a weekend, and it shows
Mismatched type, cramped galleries, a logo stretched slightly wrong. Small things, but your clients notice details for a living, and so do you.
So it never gets updated
Because touching the site is frustrating, your newest and best work never makes it on. The portfolio ages while the work gets better.
Considered, composed, color-graded.
The same frame, squeezed into a template.
Squarespace fits if this sounds like you
A quick self-check, the same one we run on a first call.
And when it's not the fit
A large store belongs on Shopify. A site that leans on plugins or a big content operation belongs on WordPress. Booking-heavy service counters often fit Wix better. We build on all of them, so the recommendation follows your work, not our preference.

After launch
How a Squarespace project runs
Three stages, with your work treated like the subject it is.
1. Curation before design
The strongest portfolio isn't everything you've shot. It's the right work in the right order. We start by selecting and sequencing with you, the way you'd edit a gallery show, so the design has something worth designing around.
Sequence matters: opener, range, closer. The site is hung, not filled.
2. A refinement pass templates can't give you
Squarespace templates are a starting point. The difference between DIY and professional is what happens after: typography chosen for your brand, spacing that lets images breathe, captions and details treated with care.
3. Launch, and the inquiries have somewhere to land
Domain connected, galleries fast, inquiry form wired to your inbox with the details you actually need: date, type of work, budget range. The site's job is simple from here: make the next client feel like they've already seen your best.
"Found your work through the Reyes gallery. Are you available October 12 in Tagaytay? Budget range attached."
Date, type, and budget includedSquarespace questions, answered straight
The things people actually ask before hiring a Squarespace developer. Something else on your mind? .
Squarespace vs. Wix: which one is for me?
Squarespace leans toward design polish: galleries, portfolios, blogging, and newsletters that look editorial out of the gate. Wix leans toward all-in-one business tools like bookings and payments. If your site's job is to present work beautifully, Squarespace usually fits. If it's to run a service counter, Wix usually fits. We build on both and will recommend the one that matches your business.
Why not WordPress?
WordPress makes sense when a site needs plugins, complex features, or a big content operation, and it brings updates and maintenance with it. For a portfolio or studio site, Squarespace gives you the polish without any of the upkeep: hosting, security, and updates are part of the subscription. If your plans genuinely call for WordPress, we build that too and we'll say so.
Can I sell prints, products, or bookings through it?
Yes, at the scale most studios need. Squarespace commerce handles prints, small product lines, gift cards, and appointment scheduling. If you're planning a serious store with a large catalog, that's Shopify territory, and we'll tell you before you invest in the wrong platform.
My work is image-heavy. Will the site stay fast?
Yes, if the images are handled properly, and that's part of the build. We prepare and optimize every image so galleries load fast without visible quality loss, on hotel wifi and on phones, not just on your studio machine.
Can I keep my domain and bring my existing content?
Yes. Your domain moves with you, and pages, posts, and images carry over, with redirects so anything you've earned in Google follows. If something is better rebuilt than migrated, we'll flag it upfront.
What does Squarespace itself cost?
Squarespace charges its own subscription, paid directly to Squarespace and separate from our build fee. Hosting, SSL, and updates are included in it. We'll recommend the right plan for what your site sells and shows during scoping.
What affects the cost and timeline?
The most useful starting point is your budget. Tell us the number you have in mind and we'll tell you honestly what it can get you: how many pages and galleries you need, content readiness, whether commerce or scheduling is part of the build, and migration size all shape the project. A focused portfolio is a quick one. No budget in mind yet? Describe what you need and we'll come back with a scoped quote, usually within a day.
Can I see examples of Squarespace sites you've built?
Most of our client work is covered under NDA, so we can't list it publicly. Reach out and we'll walk you through relevant examples that match what you're building.
